Hi Malcolm, great thought provoking article as one would expect. From my early experience of AI, it creates its vast knowledge by "scraping" the interweb for existing material and then creates a response. It is therefore using other creator's works. Can I recommend an excellent piece of writing in a book called AI Snake Oil by Arvind Narayanan and Sayash Kapoor for a clear exposé of the current issues in the development of AI? There are huge environmental issues also relating to water use, land availability, access to this amazing technology (I still occasionally read Splintering Urbanism), and the plethora of ethical issues surrounding the labour used to produce AI generated material and the inbuilt biases it contains. Keep up the good work. CH
